Astral Travelling Protection

LOST 4x05 LOST 4x04

"The Constant"

Wow, what an episode. Terrific. Rarely has such a LOST managed to captivate me from the first to the last second before the screen, and totally confused me at the end behind. That is why the Review is to the episode and only now with a few days apart.

Desmond experienced when leaving the island, similar to after turning the key in the finale of Season 2 - It takes a leap in time. And this time is even explains why.

First, his body bouncing through time, as I have to the already terrific episode "Flashes Before Your Eyes" was suspected, but only the consciousness of the spirit, the mind. "Time Warp" is also a partially-provoking concept, but is rather being provided awareness to an earlier time, like a clock that can turn back.
Desmond suddenly finds itself again in 1996, when he was in the army. He has few memories of the time from which he comes to the island and the helicopter, but he does so from a dream and living his familiar 1996 edition of 'everyday life. Until suddenly, his mind back to 2004 returns, and he finds next to Frank in the helicopter. But the "trip" after 1996 had consequences, his memories are from there until the present day cleared suddenly, he does not know where he is, he recognizes the people in his environment is not over and continues to believe that they find themselves in 1996. Until it springs back again, and is in his uniform in the barracks.
the phenomenon can be explained by Daniel Faraday, who deals with the research area earlier, and probably for exactly the reason to be on the island. Triggered, the time jumps by leaving the island or by high radiation or combination of both. Frank Lapidus is instructed to leave the island on a specific course in order to prevent the occurrence of the time effects. Apparently he creates the even, eventually occur neither he nor Sayid such effects. Desmond suffers, is explained by the fact that he was exposed to strong magnetic field, as he turned the key and had the first such experience. Even the formerly responsible for the communication of the Freighters
George Minkowski was high radiation exposure by the equipment before he approached on an uncertain course through the island and now makes even and smoothly. According to Daniel Faraday, the only way to stop the phenomenon is to find a constant, something very important for the individuals themselves, which exists in both times, the connecting between the times produced and the memories of the time in between returning. In Desmond's case, the penny, which he can identify in 1996, and he calls in 2004 from board the Freighters. By contact with Penny in 2004, Desmond made the original state again, and his leaps in time are over.

Looking at the experiences of Desmond in episode 3x08 with the knowledge of today, we see that almost all of the conditions then already voted, even ignoring the fact that Desmond experienced only a huge leap in time and not several times back and herwechselt. He turns the key, and his mind jumps back to an unspecified particular day, when he and Penny are still together. Desmond is first confused and do not know where he is, he also remembers little things again and again from the period to the present, but without knowing that he is in the past. His constant that the logic he must have been after in the episode would probably have the image that he does with Penny in the past and he Irrlauf through the jungle after he finds and then remembered where he is.
can not explain, however, the flashes that Desmond during the 3rd Season is over and where Charlie's death was announced. Since the "memories" of the future only then can adjust when the time Jumping Desmond is in the past, they should be - in logic - the complete third Season, and we played so that the complete series so far in a time warp of Desmond, whom he has not shown by an event experienced, and from which he has not returned to his presence. However, this is turned off even for LOST ratios, and because I do not even really.

There is an interesting theory on the internet (which is not mine, but I only give back), which establishes a link between the travel-time effects and the Oceanic Six.

The theory reveals in the final analysis, the identity of the two missing persons belonging to the Oceanic Six. Those who do not know this in advance will read, better not continue. For the rest ..

.. it continues here.
It seems that might all those who were near the Hatch, when Desmond turned the key, leave the island no longer, without getting in danger of experiencing a time warp effect. So far in the flash forwards have been seen only by persons who were all far from imploding Hatch. The confirmed O6 Jack, Kate and Hurley were tied up on the bridge at the time the hatch implosion, along with Ben, who is also in a FFW outside the island was underway, as well as Michael and Walt, who also have the island to leave. Sayid was on Desmond's boat, and was also far from Hatch. Aaron just does not quite fit into the picture, and Aaron is already a special case because he was not born on the island and at the time of implosion only 2 months old. Even if he would be subject to a time-travel effect, where would jump his mind? This would also explain why Claire does not leave the island with her son, simply because their minds would like to jump into Desmond's past, leading to it without have a constant would not survive.
A very interesting theory, would explain why only 6 people returning from Flight 815 in the rest of the world, and otherwise from the large group of around 40 people after all no one else. Just because everyone else would die because of the time travel effect after leaving the island.

4x05 for me was one of the best LOST episodes ever. An intriguing story over the full 42 minutes distance, very nice emotional moments about Des and Penny and many explanations, which we will probably come back more often. Full marks from me 10/10 points.
